Rugby League Development Officer (Bolton, Bury & Rochdale Service Area)

Grade Sc5/6 SCPs 25-28 Salary (currently): £21,891- £24,118

A Casual User Car Allowance is attached to this post

The newly established Bolton, Bury & Rochdale Service Area Partnership is seeking to appoint a full-time RL Development Officer on a 3 year fixed term contract.

The postholder will develop, manage and monitor the implementation of the Service Area Development Plan in line with the objectives of the RFL Business Plan & Whole Sport Plan and the local needs for RL development across the three Boroughs within the Service Area. The postholder will be responsible for increasing interest and participation in all forms of the game, making it accessible to all sectors of the communities across the Service Area and communicating the message of ‘Rugby For All’. There will be a particular focus on increasing 16+ participation and supporting the development of high quality club environments.

The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of and enthusiasm for, the game of Rugby League, a thorough understanding and experience of sports development and partnership working, excellent communication and inter-personal abilities and proven project management skills.

The postholder will engage with local sports development networks, school sport partnerships and clubs in each of the Boroughs within the Service Area in accordance with a work programme to be approved by the Service Area Steering Group.

The Rochdale Boroughwide Cultural Trust (trading as Link4Life) will be the employer and host body on behalf of the Service Area partners and the postholder will be based within the Link4Life Neighbourhood & Communities Team (Sports Development Unit).

The appointment will be subject to Enhanced CRB check.

Rugby League Development Officer Cumbria

Salary: £20,330- £22,800 p.a.                                                    

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Student Rugby League (SRL). We seek to appoint a Rugby League Development Officer to be based in Cumbria.

You will assist the County Development Manager to develop and maximise Rugby League opportunities within Cumbria. The role will involve leading on several key projects within the county including leadership & volunteering, clubmark, the 16 to 24 year old drop-off and administration of the player pathway.

In order to be successful you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of working with and developing clubs and volunteers 
  • Ability to identify the interests, needs and aspirations of young people and successfully match them to available volunteering opportunities
  • Experience of working with young people, particularly in an advising or mentoring role
  • Self motivated and reliable individual who can work extended and unsociable hours at busy times
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider  team

The position is on a Fixed Term Contract (Maximum 2 years).  Possession of a full and valid driving licence is essential as is the use of your own car.
